CrossFit Games 2021 will be taking place in a few weeks and many CrossFit Games participants are very excited. Besides the usual competitions like the men's, women's events will also take place. We're all familiar with the Reebok's equipment, the Pegboard contest, and the Cutting system. But what do we know about the womens' competition? Keep reading to find the answer! And don't forget to check out the CrossFit news page for updates on the competition!
The competition for women
The swim event was the start of the women's division at the 2021 Crossfit Games. Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr and Jonne Koski won in the first event. Koski won the overall competition after maintaining her lead all the way. Tall and Eramoo Connell were second and third, each. This was the first Games event for women and the women's team hoped to finish the podium.
The women’s competition is populated with high-level competitors. The field includes nine athletes. One of them is a 19-year old powerhouse, who won the Australian competition last year. Kara Saunders from Australia, who placed second in Australia and 11th globally in 2020 are other contenders. Andrea Nisler is another rising star. She competed in the team category in 2018 and placed third in the United States, and 15th overall in 2020. These athletes will be joined by Sara Sigmundsdottir from Iceland, who was awarded the first place medal at the World Crossfit Games earlier in the year.
Pegboard contest
Pegboard contest at Crossfit Games 2121 was a new concept. The Games added it to their summer Olympic program, along with double-unders (dumbbell overhead squats) and pegboard. Toomey-Orr set the record for most wins in a single Games event with 30. Sager won Event 11 (for men) and was awarded his third Games win. There were several tie in the contest but Toomey Orr's dominance was too strong to stop him winning.

CrossFit Games training involves focusing on ten basic physical fitness skills: endurance, strength flexibility power speed and agility. Pegboard tests the grip strength and coordination of competitors. A scale is used to determine the strength and coordination of competitors. The competition was fierce and the athletes felt a sense accomplishment after finishing the Pegboard.
System of cutting
CrossFit Games uses a cutting system to judge individual competition. The cuts are not as severe as those used in past Games but they are still very different. The competition consists of 15 individual events, so a first cut to 30 athletes is likely after the seventh or eighth event. CrossFit must also answer the question of how it will adjust the points following cuts. It's probable that the scoring table used for the 2019 games will remain nearly the same as the one used in 2021.
The CrossFit Games' largest ever field, consisting of 236 athletes this year, is the largest ever. The first six events result in major cuts. The field is now reduced to 75. To determine the top ten, the top 30 athletes compete in a sprint tandem. From there, the top twenty athletes compete in the six remaining events. Castro's system was criticised by veteran Games participants, who felt that the cuts were too significant.
Reebok equipment
Reebok announces new CrossFit Games clothing, shoes and other equipment. Nano X1 will be the new shoes. They can be used for multiple fitness goals. Although Reebok calls this shoe "the shoe for fitness", it feels more like a training shoe. DuPont's Kevlar fabric is used for the upper, which promotes breathability and durability. The shoes are responsive thanks to the firm midsole and RopePro technology.

CrossFit's agreement with Reebok will end at 2020. No title sponsor will be available for the Games. Reebok has sponsored the Games for more than a decade. It is now evident that their involvement in the Games will decrease. The company won't fund the Games' prize purse, but will continue to make all of the athletic apparel and equipment worn by athletes, including the new Reebok gear. However, the company will no longer refer to itself as the "Reebok CrossFit Games" as it does now.

Fast muscle building is possible by eating healthy foods and regularly lifting weights.
The best time to work out is early morning when you are fresh and ready for action!
Try exercises like squats and bench presses.
Consider trying different weight training programs and drinking plenty of water throughout each day.
What is the best way to train?
It depends on what you are looking for. You should start with heavy weights if your goal is to build muscle mass. Then move into cardio. For those who want to lose weight or exercise, you can switch from cardio to strength-training.
If you just want to burn fat, start by doing cardio. Then add strength training after.
Then if you want to gain muscle mass, do cardio last because it stimulates growth hormones which help build muscle mass.
Also, eat before you workout. This will fuel you muscles better, which will make it work harder. You will feel happier during your workout.
Is it possible to drink alcohol while training?
Yes. Alcohol can increase energy expenditure and speed up recovery, as well as reduce soreness.
The insulin sensitivity of alcohol is also increased, which makes it easier for glucose to be absorbed.
Alcohol can also cause dehydration which can lead to a slower metabolism. It can also decrease testosterone production, which can affect muscle-building ability.
For these reasons, women shouldn't drink alcoholic beverages before working out. Women who drink heavily should wait at the least 24 hours before exercising.
Women who are nursing should avoid alcohol as much as possible.
Men should only consume one drink per day.

What is the difference between Aerobic Fitness and Anaerobic Fitness?
Anaerobic fitness describes the body's ability not to use oxygen to perform intense physical tasks. Anaerobic pathways can be used to supply enough energy during high-intensity exercise. Anaerobic pathways are glycolysis, creatinephosphate and the phosphagen.
Cardio fitness is, in contrast to aerobic fitness, the practice of sustaining low-intensity exercise. When doing aerobic exercises, oxygen serves as the primary source for fuel for the cells. The aerobic pathway is more efficient than the anaerobic.
You must build your aerobic capacity before you can run a marathon. If you concentrate on building your anaerobic capability, you won’t be able complete the race.
Aerobic fitness is also referred to as cardiovascular fitness. The most common methods of determining cardiovascular fitness are step tests and VO2max testing.
VO2 Max Test
VO2 max is the maximal amount of oxygen (O2) that the body uses during exercise. This test measures how much oxygen the body can use while exercising.
This is one of the most accurate tests to measure cardiovascular fitness. The test is difficult to administer because it requires expensive equipment.
Step Tests
Step tests are a quick and easy way to test your cardiovascular fitness. You will be asked to walk, jog or run for a specific time on a track. This is based on your age or weight.
These tests cost little, are quick and simple to do, and can be carried out almost anywhere. For example, you could walk on a treadmill 20 minutes and then stop. Throughout the session your heart rate should not exceed a specified range.
This method is known by the "Bruce Protocol". Bruce, a runner, developed this protocol after realizing that his heart rate did not rise when he ran longer distances.
